Potato Please Water Channel Jam: Restore the Flow

Fix a Potato Please water channel jam by checking the bend, clearing loose potatoes and applying hotfix changes. Recover your shift without deleting the save.

01

Check the Bend and the Machines Feeding It

When Potato Please slows down or peeled potatoes pile up at the water-channel bend, inspect where they stop moving and whether the peeling machines are still adding more. Install Hotfix 1.0.2, then try cleanup, the matching Troubleshooting option and a saved-shift reload before abandoning your progress.

02

Work Through the Jam in This Order

  1. Update the game to include Hotfix 1.0.2 before diagnosing a lasting save problem. The developer's fixes specifically address late-game channel jams that caused severe slowdowns and crashes.
  2. Inspect the channel bend to locate the blockage. Check the potatoes actually collecting there rather than assuming every jam comes from the same cause.
  3. Inspect the peeling machines upstream to see whether they are still producing potatoes or have stopped at their own input. This helps you separate an output blockage from a supply or processing problem.
  4. Clear accumulated potatoes with your bucket, or use the Potato Vacuum if you already have it. Players reported using these tools to offload the crowded corner.
  5. Check the available water-current upgrades to improve how quickly potatoes move away. Recheck the corner afterward, since players also reported jams with fully upgraded water speed.
  6. Open Troubleshooting from the pause menu if a sack, wheelbarrow or other supported recovery problem is preventing cleanup. Choose the option that matches the affected object.
  7. Reload your saved shift after updating if the problem persists. Check the hopper, vacuum tank and outdoor pile when you return so you can locate the potatoes and resume work.
  8. Watch the output reach the chute to verify that delivery has resumed. Peeled potatoes waiting in the line still need to complete that journey.

Match the Symptom to the Next Check

What You SeeWhat to Check
Peeling machines run, but delivered progress has stopped.Inspect the output lane and chute for potatoes that are no longer moving.
Machines sit idle with no potatoes reaching them.Trace delivery from the pile and check the sack pickup position or crane unloading.
Potatoes accumulate indoors as the frame rate falls.Clear loose potatoes and blocked waterways, then check water speed. These are player-reported cleanup measures.
The outdoor pile forms an arch or stops collapsing.Use Repile Potatoes for the pile problem, then check that supply reaches the processing line.

What the Water-Flow Hotfix Changes

Golden Horn Studios lists severe slowdown and crash fixes for late-game water-channel jams in Hotfix 1.0.2. The update also makes potatoes move more freely through water. Its final two channel-speed levels are slightly faster, so the patch matters even if you have already invested in water upgrades.

An earlier change in Hotfix 1.0.1 addressed cut potatoes becoming trapped inside peeling-machine hoppers. Those potatoes now roll back out unpeeled. If the machine stops feeding, inspect its hopper as well as the water channel.

Player reports describe different causes around the same bend: unpeeled potatoes lodging in the water, and machine output piling up because it could not turn the corner quickly enough. Check what is happening in your own shift before choosing the next fix. A crowded corner does not, by itself, tell you which part of the line failed.

05

Recover the Shift and Locate Your Saved Potatoes

Hotfix 1.0.2 preserves potatoes inside machine hoppers and the vacuum tank when you save and load. Potatoes held in a bucket or wheelbarrow return to the pile on loading. Check that pile before treating an emptied container as lost stock.

Use recovery tools for the problem they address. Repile Potatoes is available through Pause and Troubleshooting for displaced or inaccessible potatoes around the pile. After using it, inspect where the potatoes returned and check the crane's delivery into the processing system.

Hotfix 1.0.1 reduced the Unstuck, Wheelbarrow and Sack recovery cooldowns to 60 seconds. The Repile cooldown was also reduced to 60 seconds. Allow the relevant recovery option to become available before trying it again.

06

Check Capacity After Flow Returns

Once the corner is clear, watch where the next queue forms before buying more equipment. A crane can supply potatoes faster than the peeling machines process them, while empty machines need better delivery. Match the purchase to that visible delay and keep checking the water output as production continues.

07

Persistent Jams and Unplayable Saves

Why can the corner still need checking after water-speed upgrades?
Players reported overflowing corners even with fully upgraded water speed, including problems involving sacks and peeling machines. Inspect the actual obstruction and upstream equipment as well as your water upgrades. Check the installed hotfix before applying advice from those reports.
What if lowering graphics settings does not help?
A player reported that graphics changes did not resolve a major slowdown after automation. Other players linked poor performance to accumulated potatoes and recommended clearing waterways and loose stock. Check that buildup and apply the channel-jam hotfix before assuming graphics settings are the only issue.
What can I do if the save is too slow to clean up?
Golden Horn Studios asks players with an unplayable save to send it to support@goldenhornstudios.com for inspection. Find the save folder by pasting %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\GoldenHorn\PotatoPlease into File Explorer's address bar. Keep a copy of the affected save before sending it.
